New Projects July 10, 2008: Graviton is a typeface that I've been working on for a few months and I'm really happy with how it turned out. The idea came when I was looking through a catalog of movie posters and I saw a letter "K" that I liked the shape of. It's funny how one small letter can lead to over 250 different symbols, letters and punctuation marks. I think Graviton would be a great font for signs and logos. June 3, 2008: In 1996 I released the Astro font. It was the first Star Wars style font available on the web, and it was the first font I ever created. I used Fontographer back then, and for a first attempt it was pretty good. Hard to believe that 12 years have gone by. And since then, I've gotten a lot better at what I do. Also since then, Lucas released the Star Wars Special Edition films and three new prequels. I figured it was time to go back and re-do Astro as Astro SE. It looks great. I hope you'll check it out. May 25, 2008: This past week, I revisited a font I'd drawn about 14 years ago, Kingdom. It was the first font I ever created. I've redrawn the entire character set and made some really nice improvements to the capital letters. I grew up in California and every year my parents took me to Disneyland every year, so I'm dedicating this font to my parents, who instilled in me a sense of wonder about the world, and to my sister created with me my favorite memories of childhood. May 13, 2008: My Galax-E font is now at version 2.0 and includes lowercase letters and a fourth style called "Circled." May 12, 2008: I've added an Iron Hero Tutorial page to help those using the Iron Hero font for their design projects. I'll be adding more tutorials as people request them. If you have any suggestions, I'd like to hear them. May 10, 2008: In 1998 I visited EPCOT Center in Walt Disney World, and while touring the park, I admired the lettering used on some the signage. At first glance it looked like Handel Gothic, but I quickly saw that it was a completely different critter. When I returned home I tried to find the typeface online, but it wasn't available. So I drew it out myself and named it World. However, it was missing lowercase letters and the character set needed to be filled out: overall, I wasn't happy with it, but it was one of things that I just never got around to fixing. Until now. I've re-drawn the entire font, created some great-looking lowercase letters, symbols and international characters. I also designed a light and demibold version. Now World looks great now and it's one of my favorites. Be sure to check out the free World Symbols font as well. May 3 , 2008: My friend Eric has been waiting for the movie "Iron Man" to hit the theaters: he must have shown me the previews for that movie a dozen times. Well, Eric, I've created a font to help you celebrate, called Iron Hero. You'll have to let me know if the movie was any good. Personally, I am more excited about the new Indiana Jones movie coming on May 22. April 14, 2008: I have released a new font called Time Travel. The only Back to the Future font that has a set of lowercase letters. March 21, 2008: I've created a font called Galax-E, which was inspired by the lettering for the upcoming Pixar movie, "Wall-E."
